One of my favorite previous colleagues gave me the book, The War of Art. He left it on my desk one morning with nothing but a quote from the book scribbled on a scrap sheet of paper in Dave's messy handwriting. It read, "Most of us have 2 lives. The life we live, and the unlived life within us. Between the two stands Resistance." That scribbled note in my friend's handwriting sits at my desk to this day.
Also, from one writer to another, "it is as indiscriminate as rain," stuck with me and won't let go. Thank you, Kelly.
